In this renovation job we were asked to install a new kitchen backsplash, a tub surround and vanity splash in the main bathroom, new back entry floor, as well as a new ensuite bathroom floor.
For the kitchen backsplash we used a glossy 3×6 subway tile in a 50/50 brick lay pattern and set it using ReliaBond Tile Adhesive. Different than our usual kitchen backsplash we were asked to tile in the area the bay window creates as well.
For the main bathroom we set the 12×24 tile in a stacked pattern using VersaBond Mortar. This tub surround also includes a niche that we tiled with the mosaic tile seen in the vanity splash. The mosaic vanity splash is set using ReliaBond Tile Adhesive.
The back entrance is a 12×24 tile set in a 50/50 brick lay pattern, and also includes tile base to help prevent against water damage. The tile base creates an impenetrable barrier between the wall and the tile unlike wood or MDF baseboard. The type of mortar used for this area is the 253 Gold Laticrete Mortar.
Lastly, in the ensuite area there is a 12×24 tile laid in a stacked pattern and set using 253 Gold Laticrete Mortar.
All areas of this house were grouted using a high performance, stain resistant Prism Grout.
